SOC 110 Introduction to Sociology An introductory analysis of the nature of society, the interrelationship of its component groups and the process whereby society persists and changes. SOC 111 Introduction to Anthropology Introductory overview of the major divisions of anthropology: Cultural and physical anthropology, archaeology, and linguistics. SOC 115 Social Problems A sociological analysis of major social problems. SOC 117 Men, Women and Society SOC 120 Transition to College Life/Seminar SOC 123 Investigations in Environmental Problems Student project or discussion topics will be designed to meet the needs of individual students or small groups. Instructor's consent required. Maximum of three credits. SOC 220 Family SOC 221 Minority Relations A study of the relations between advantaged and disadvantaged groups in American society. The experience and present status of such racial and ethnic groups as the Native American, Blacks, Hispanics, WASP's, Jews, and Asians are examined. SOC 235 Cultural Diversity SOC 251 Gerontology SOC 252 Criminology SOC 253 Juvenile Delinquency A critical evaluation of the role of the family, school, community officials, social agencies, and community programs and institutions in delinquency prevention and control.
