ITAL 102 1st Year Italian II
Continued study of pronunciation and fundamentals of grammar, application of oral, written, and comprehensive skills, continued exploration of Italian culture and civilization. Prerequisite: ITAL 101 with a grade of C or better.

JAPN 101 1st Year Japanese I
For beginners or those entering with one or two years of high school Japanese. Introduction to the spoken Japanese language.

JAPN 102 1st Year Japanese II
A continuation of JAPN 101. Prerequisite: JAPN 101.

JAPN 201 2nd Year Japanese I
Review of basic Japanese with increased practice in conversation, reading, and writing. Prerequisite: JAPN 102.

JAPN 202 2nd Year Japanese II
Continuation of JAPN 201. Prerequisite: JAPN 201.

NORW 101 1st Year Norwegian I
Introduction to the basic Norwegian language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening; fundamentals of grammar. Language laboratory attendance required.

NORW 102 1st Year Norwegian II
Basic Norwegian language skills; continuation of fundamentals of grammar. language laboratory attendance required. Prerequisite: NORW 101 with a C grade or better.

NORW 201 2nd Year Norwegian I
Selected cultural and literary readings, review of the structure of the language, and continued development of readings, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Prerequisite: NORW 102 or equivalent.

SPAN 250 Hispanic Civilization & Culture
An introduction to the diversity and complexity of the Hispanic world taught in English. Selected readings and videocassette presentations generate topics for discussion which include the cultural history of both Spain and the New World, universal themes demonstrated in Juan Rulfo's short stories, Hispanic current events, and contemporary culture.
