ENTR 170 Introduction to Entrepreneurship This course is designed for students who want to investigate options for self-employment. Students will evaluate their personal and professional skills, interests and abilities as they relate to business ownership, as well as the opportunities, risks and rewards of self-employment. ENTR 201 The Entrepreneur and the Economy This course is designed for students not enrolled in the college of business and Public Administration who have an interest in business and the business world. This course introduces students to the basic characteristics of the world of business, including the political, social and economic system in which a business functions, the characteristics of a business, the creation of a business and issues dealing entrepreneurship. ENTR 224 Principles of Finance Pre-requisite ACCT 102 Students will study financial issues affecting businesses. Topics will include financial statement analysis, bookkeeping, recordkeeping, budgeting, cash flow management and financing. Students will also learn about the structure of a financing package as it applies to a small business venture. ENTR 226 Marketing for Small Business This course is designed for students to learn the fundamentals of marketing for small business. Students will learn about the customers, what they are really buying and why, how to segment and target them. Students will also learn about the market, researching the market, developing the right market image, creating uniqueness in marketing, and exploring many specific advertising and promotional techniques. ENTR 228 Management for Small Enterprises ENTR 234 Customer Service Students will learn how to build a loyal, long-term customer relationship by meeting the needs and wants of customers, handling difficult customers with tact and skill, respecting diversity, and providing superior customer service in person, online and via telephone in a variety of customer service environments. ENTR 236 E-Commerce and International Business ENTR 285 Small Business Strategy and Implementation This course is designed as a capstone to the entrepreneurship program. This brings all the knowledge, skills and abilities into one class for a detailed analysis of the student's business idea. By the end of the course, the student will have completed a detailed business plan ready for start-up. The following individuals are leaders for this discipline.
