BISMARCK, N.D. - A conference focusing on the strengths and challenges of a diverse population will be held April 22, 2010, at the Best Western Doublewood Inn in Bismarck, N.D.
Keynote speaker Winona LaDuke is an internationally renowned activist on issues of sustainable development, renewable energy and food systems. She works nationally and internationally on issues of climate change, renewable energy and environmental justice with Indigenous communities. The conference also will include breakout sessions about diversity-related topics.
The event is sponsored by the North Dakota University System. It is free and open to the public. Counselors, educators, students, business people, non-profit agency employees and the general public are encouraged to attend. The registration deadline is Monday, April 19, 2010.
