Heart River Writers' Circle presents readings by Mark Trechock at DSU Oct. 16 Posted on 10/5/2012
Mark Trechock, author and poet, will read selected poems on Tuesday, Oct.16, at 7 p.m. in Beck Auditorium, Klinefelter Hall.
Trechock is currently working on a collection of poems about western North Dakota, tentatively titled, "West of Town." Originally a native of Minneapolis, Trechock now lives Dickinson with his wife, Janeen Nichols, and three children.
From 1993 until early 2012, Trechock served as staff director of Dakota Resource Council, through which he became intimately acquainted with the concerns of farmers and ranchers in western North Dakota. He also served for 18 years as a Lutheran parish pastor in North Dakota, Minnesota and Colorado. Trechock holds degrees from Augsburg College, Princeton Theological Seminary and the Iliff School of Theology.
