USA College Sports, Inc. announces Biesiot Award to honor NAIA Scholar/Football Player from DSU Posted on 7/23/2012
The Biesiot Award has been created by USA College Sports, Inc. to recognize the Outstanding NAIA College Scholar/Football Player of the Year, honoring excellence in athletics, academics and community service, The award is named for Hank Biesiot, the head football coach at Dickinson State University in North Dakota and will be presented annually at the Hansen Bowl event. Biesiot has over 250 career victories to his credit and counting. He was elected into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2006, Nominations for the first honoree that will be awarded following the 2012 season will be made by the college presidents with supporting letters and credentials provided by the head football coach and sports information director. After the NAIA members of the Hansen Bowl Executive Board screen the nominations and narrow the field to 10 finalists, the 25-member Biesiot Award national selection panel will rank the candidates 1-10 to determine the recipient.
