DSU students win North Dakota Professional Communicators awards for publications Posted on 5/7/2012
The 2012 College Communications Contest sponsored by The North Dakota Professional Communicators, recognized Dickinson State University's literary magazine, "Impressions" and the contributions of student editors and writers for "The Hawk" and other DSU student publications. The contest, which was judged by professional journalists, communicators and educators from throughout the state, received 180 entries in 35 categories.The awards received are as follows in the following categories:

Angela Caulk, first place
Personal Essay
Lew Froelich, second place Amy Magstadt, third place Chantel Hubert, honorable mention Joy Walter, honorable mention Alex Jacobs received an honorable mention for his work, "Publication Regularly Edited by Entrant."
Lew Froelich, Tony Haynes, Amy Magstadt and Chukwuka Nwafor took second place twice, once for their work on the 2011 edition of "Impressions" and on the 2011 edition of the DSU Department of Language and Literature newsletter, "Wordwrights."
The work of these students was supervised by Dr. David Schreindl, DSU advisor for student publications and journalism instructor.
