"Paintings" gallery at DSU features Kevin Bernstein March 5-30 Posted on 3/5/2012
The Dickinson State University art gallery will present "Paintings," an acrylic paintings collection by Kevin Bernstein, March 5-30. An artist's reception will be held Tuesday, March 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
Bernstein received his Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the University of Washington, Seattle and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has exhibited his work throughout the United States and internationally. He was awarded the Ellie Wilder Award from juror Jim Kempner at the 54th Chautauqua Annual and recently completed a Centrum Artist Residency as a recipient of Russell Jaqua Award for Artistic Excellence. He is currently Assistant Professor of Art and Area Coordinator of 2D Foundations and serves as graduate painting faculty in in the Department of Art at Kansas State University.
The DSU Art Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday. Support for the gallery comes from Dickinson State University, private donations and the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which is funded by the state of North Dakota and the National Endowment for the Arts.
